Ok, but I think it could be a north bridge issue. If I try to update the video driver from here, it just seems to reinstall the bad GeForce driver again, so again is forced to revert to the Basic driver after flickering for a while. Hope this helps in the decision process anyway Check local regulations for disposal of electronic products. Everything worked fine under Win 7.

After that, install the latest drivers from Nvidia for your GPU if you know the name. I recommend that caloriehoarder do what seahaws65 suggested, and see if that get’s his ethefnet issues fixed. Adding another GPU only treats the flickering.
I went back to the Basic Display driver which doesn’t flicker and simply disabled the GeForce in device manager because I’m done caring about video.

From m37n8-vm Windows 10 x64 installation with no added drivers on my m3n78-vvm, Windows tries to install GeForce drivers in background, which cause the screen to flicker like crazy, so it eventually reverts to the Basic Display driver.
